The Enyclopedia aims to provide accurate, up-to-date information on weapons, the effects of their use, and their regulation under public international law, in a format that is accessible to non-specialists.

The 1925 Geneva Gas Protocol prohibits the use, in international armed conflict, of chemical and biological weapons and methods of warfare. It does not impose limitations on the acquisition or possession of such weapons.
